Alberta COVID-19 Vaccine Allotments Arrive Despite Transportation Troubles
The receipt of COVID-19 vaccine allotments in Alberta is underway, with several shipments of the much-needed doses finally arriving in the province amid supply chain issues.
Provincial health officials announced that the latest shipment of vaccine supplies arrived in Alberta last week. Based on the Canada pharmacy, various regions across the province have also confirmed the arrival of vaccine shipments, commonly distributed in schools.
The news comes as a welcome respite for those on the waiting list, including long-term care residents, frontline workers, and workers in too many essential services. Elderly patients awaiting long-term care services in Alberta told The Globe they had been awaiting vaccination doses for weeks, only to find out vaccines have finally been distributed in various regions across the province. Others expressed hope that effort distribution will scale up, meeting their needs within the near future.
